Los danzarines de los Kanchis participaron activamente de la festividad de la Virgen de Candelaria de Ayaviri, así como los Puli Pulis, danzas autóctonas que aún son practicadas por jóvenes de Ayaviri.

Los danzarines de los Kanchis participaron activamente de la festividad de la Virgen de Candelaria de Ayaviri, así como los Puli Pulis, danzas autóctonas que aún son practicadas por jóvenes de Ayaviri.

Esta danza simboliza la presencia de los pobladores de la región Cusco, quienes llegan a venerar a la Virgen de Candelaria cada 24 de enero, acto en el que realizan la siembra del maíz y habas en pleno cerro Kolqueparque, mientras danzan al compás de acordeones, guitarras, mandolinas y charangos.

Los grupos Celeste y Kollpapata aún perviven en el tiempo y se visten con ponchos, máscaras de chullos, portando varas y las mujeres con pollera y su atado o kepiña.
